I grew up the youngest of seven children, a child of the sixties and seventies, with loving parents who encouraged, even though they did not always understand, my vivid imagination. I was a bookworm from the moment I opened my first book and discovered I could lose myself in words. I studied creative writing for awhile in college, did some freelance writing for a local newspaper, and I’ve had a few articles published in magazines over the years.
I have been married forever to a great guy, who is very supportive of most of my crazy ideas. We have two grown children who are busy these days making their own way in the world. Five years ago, we pulled up roots and moved from the suburbs to acreage in the country. It was an adjustment for us all. I am still trying to adjust.
I learned to knit when I was a kid. It was mandatory since both my grandmothers were highly skilled in knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing and all things to do with stitchery. My mom was a working mother, but she dabbled in knit and crochet when she was able, and mostly in her retired years. Sometimes I dabbled along with her.
I didn’t discover a passion for knitting until just recently. Now it is safe to say that I am truly addicted. So much, in fact, that in 2007 I took a huge leap of faith and opened my own yarn shop.
Both of my grandmothers are long gone, and sadly, so is my mom. I like to think they are with me in spirit as I embark on this latest creative journey of mine.

I’ll be sure to tune in frequently! You have a way with words! I enjoyed!
You and I would get along.
Thanks for the ramblings!
